Hesperia Homes for Sale & Real EstateA hot humid city that lies within the Mojave Desert, Hesperia is normally associated as a town under the San Bernardino County, California. Lying pretty close to the San Andreas Fault, Hesperia has a population of 90,173 and is also above sea level, besides being quite near to Victorville and Apple Valley. Indigenous to the desert, most of trees and flora found here are highly appreciated by the locals, as they have the Mojave River as their main source of irrigation and don’t really need to worry about water problems despite living in the middle of the desert. With a total area of 73.2 square miles (190 km2), it’s perhaps bigger than most of the cities in its categories and has origins dating back to 1781. Hesperia Homes for Sale Beginning with the Spanish, Hesperia began to flourish after the Serrano Indians came to city and starting living by the river bed. A Rail Road company later continued the development trend and eventually gave the city its name, meaning ‘Hesperus’, a Greek God noted for his allegiance to the West. From its early days, the Hesperia has had the potential of becoming a huge metropolis but in the 1900's response was not that favorable from the rest of the United States and population increased slowly. However, with the routes and major freeways connecting it with other areas, things have changed quite a bit since then. Houses generally tend to be on the low price side, but their style seems to be focused on the suburban side, as they have gardens, lowered rooftops and attached garages which are generally meant for families as such. The Colonial decoration seems to be a common preference and can be witnessed all around the city, although you will be relishing the price tags once you reach the houses. A 3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom house will cost round about $120,000, which is not a princely sum considering what more the city has to offer. Hesperia Neighborhoods and Districts: Although not divided into major districts or areas, one of the busiest locations in the city is the School District, which acts as the major financial and employment hub of the people residing in the town. Hesperia Employment and Economy: While the prices are on the down side and act as a major benefit to the people, the income also plays a great role in making Hesperia a terrific place to live in, with the average household having a $40,201 median earning. However, that goes a long way for the 14.1% of the population that is living under the poverty line and need constant financial attention for the council to ensure that they are able to meet their basic needs on a regular basis.
